Emulating a Professional Photographer
See my blog post for this assignment here.

For this assignment, I attempted to take photographs in the style of William Eggleston. Eggleston is known for being one of the pioneers in color photography, capturing the vibrant images of post-war American culture. His images showcase his innate talent for poetic images that combine color with composition. Eggleston's later works were those of inanimate objects such as cars and storefronts, but his talent was evident in his photography despite his subjects being categorized as boring, mundane, or trivial. The photos I selected for this assignment are ones that I thought were similar to his composition and framing, but not perfect replications.
Course Goals and Achievements
In regards to my About Me page, I would say that I have met my goals for this semester. In learning about shot composition and reading up on the works of notorious photographers, I have gained more insight into the fundamentals and alternate takes on composition. This assignment has also given me practice in retouching images, as I have adjusted the color of these images in an attempt to match Eggleston's styling. Studying the works of renowned photographers have also helped me understand how to convey certain ideas through photography.
